The copyright on this site is similar to that on Dr Mike's Math Games for Kids. Basically, you can make as many printed copies as you like for teaching purposes, but not to sell. If you want to include my games in a commercial publication, please ask. I usually say yes. Please don't copy the games directly onto your own website, after all, they're available here, so you can just link to them.
If you're familiar with Creative Commons licences, you can treat these games as CC Attribution, Sharealike, Noncommercial offline. FOr variations of this, please ask.
In more detail : My goal is to make this site as useful as possible to teachers and parents of elementary and kindy kids. For this reason, all the materials on the site are free of charge, with no obligation to register or subscribe or any such thing. There's no such thing as "limited versions" which you can't upgrade without buying something. There's only a few rules, which I hope will not hinder you in helping the kids learn to love language.
For games that can be printed out :
You Can
- make as many copies as you like of the printed sheets and instructions for the games, and give them to your friends and colleagues, or use them with the kids you care for.
- email electronic copies to your friends, colleagues, or to discussion forums or email lists (but please mention the website URL (http://www.word-games-for-kids.com)
However,
- please don't publish material from this website in a printed or electronic publication that people pay to receive - at least, not without asking
- please do not publish material from this website without referring back to the site
- please do not remove the website URL from the pdf files, or claim credit for the material
- please do not put the material on a website. If you want to put it on a website, place a link to it instead
- please don't link directly to the pdf files of the games. Instead, link to the web pages describing them.
For games that can only be played on the computer, well, what do you want to do? Besides playing the games,
You Can
- make screenshots of the game for use in publications (but, as before, please mention the website URL)
- make copies of them for use on computers you control, which are not connected to the internet
On the other hand,
- please don't copy the game to your own website, or claim credit for it, or link to it directly from a page on your own site.
- please do not put the material on a website. If you want to put it on a website, place a link to it instead
If you want to use a game in a way that will help kids, and you aren't sure if I'd approve, just ask!
Yours, Dr Mike
